Joining or volunteering on a committee is another great way to get involved with ILEA NY Metro, give back to the industry, and connect with your community of event professionals! Below is a list of committees that would value your help.

Communications Committee
This committee is the right one for those with busy schedules looking for a structured time commitment for their volunteer work that can be done outside of the office. The best candidates would be organized, love social media, participate or are interested in social networks and/or desire to help spread the news about ILEA NY Metro. Tasks include updating social media with industry-related posts, sourcing and/or writing post event blog posts, update website, researching local media outlets for increased exposure for ILEA NY Metro and other duties to execute the chapter’s marketing plan.
Membership Committee
Recruiting new members and maintaining the current membership roster is the responsibility of this committee. Developing member benefits to entice membership satisfaction and increase membership renewal is the name of the game. Get creative and help out your ILEA Community!
Programs & Education Committee
Interested in putting your planning skills to work and supporting ILEA NY Metro? Join the Programs and Education Committee. This committee is responsible for the planning and executing of the monthly meetings, breakfast series meetings, and annual Big Apple Celebration. This committee will work closely with the VP of Programs & Education and assist with securing vendors for each event, including but not limited to: caterers, venues, florists, entertainment, audio/visual, etc.
Strategic Partnerships Committee
Help our chapter develop valuable industry partnerships!
Our Strategic Development Committee is tasked with cultivating new partner initiatives and developing new sponsorship and advertising opportunities for ILEA NY Metro. This includes work with public relations and getting to know our other industry associations. Join this committee and make a difference in the future of ILEA NY Metro.
Other volunteers needed for the following roles:
- Onsite registration help
- Promotion on their personal/business social media pages
- Assistance with name badging
- Become a meetup location host
